Things that creep me out...this week.

Oh, American Idol. You're so cute. Everytime I think I can quit you, you pull me back in with your awesomeness. First it was Dolly, then you brought me the craziness that was and is Mariah Carey, now Andrew Lloyd Webber? I love you, you know...Man, this show just gets more and more trainwrecky as the weeks go by, and I love it! You have the dreadlocked muppet singing "Memory" in his best soulful Buckley-Cocker imitation, you have Carly belting out "Jesus Christ Superstar", and the littlest David keeping his eyes open for the entire performance of "Think of Me", Big Dave singing "Music of the Night", more on that later, and Brooke White butchering "You must love me" from Evita. Syesha sang something I hadn't heard before, but she did it in a pretty red dress, and looked fabulous, so good for her. Way to ruin the Webber for me, Idol! Thanks!

After pulling out the Ipod and revisiting some of my favorite songs in the whole wide world sang the way they SHOULD be, I rewind the Tivo to recap tonight's Idol. Here's what I got in one sentence: Syesha sassy in a red dress, Jason (whoa...like....whoa), Davey singing the most girlie Broadway song there is in the whole wide world, Brooke picking the perfect singout song for tomorrow night, Carly shouting at me about Jesus, and David reminding me how I love Michael Crawford, and how hot Gerard Butler was as the Phantom. That's it. That's all I've got for this one.

I am a fan of the showtune. I adore the musical theater. I've been known to love the A'Idol. However, none of these things should ever be brought together, lest the world as we know it implode and red hot magma rains down upon us. The next time the producers of this show think "Hey, maybe we should do a Broadway night again?", they should remember tonight...and then decide to do Rick Springfield songs instead. Much more entertaining.

So one more thing to add to the list of things that creep me out.
  1. Birds (because of the whole pecking my eyes out thing)
  2. Stairs (because of the falling down them fear)
  3. Riverdance (because of all the flailing legs and motionless arms)
  4. Kevin Spacey (Seven)
  5. Michael on General Hospital (because of his mean face and footie pajamas)
  6. Andrew Lloyd Webber night on American Idol (because of all the suckiness)
